HUNTINGTON · NY
Twenty minutes west of Huntington.
From Huntington Village, L'Étoile is a twenty-minute drive west along Route 25A — past Cold Spring Harbor, through the trees, to a candlelit dining room on South Street. Classic French cooking, an old-world wine list.
Why L'Étoile, from Huntington
Worth crossing the Cold Spring Harbor line
A drive-quality French dinner without going into Manhattan — escargots, steak frites, a sommelier-curated wine list. Twenty minutes along one of the prettier stretches of 25A.
After the Paramount or the Heckscher
Pre-show dinner before a Paramount concert (we'll get you out by 7:30 PM if you ask) or a long-format dinner after an exhibit at the Heckscher Museum.
A more serious wine list than Huntington Village
About 200 bottles, French-led, with strong Bourgogne and Bordeaux sections plus a deep selection of Champagne and a small Loire collection. The cellar earns the drive.
A different room than the village
Where Huntington tends to brick-and-banquette American cooking, the Snouder's Building gives us marble, brass, and proper white tablecloths. The change of scenery is part of the date.
